Macular degneration

Central vision loss from macula damage

Macular degneration

The central retina has the greatest density of cone photo receptors.

It's here where we get color and detailed vision.

Should there be a loss of photo-receptors due to degeneration or damage, this will impact central, detail, and color vision.

Some cases are age related degenerations while others are acquired.
It's important to rule out acquired or active degeneration as intervention can still be done
